Don Valley Brickworks Hummingbirds
August 18th, 2007 by Rob McKay
I was lucky to stumble upon a couple of ruby throated hummingbirds at rest today at the Don Valley Brickworks. I noticed on a few occasions, what looked like giant bees buzzing around! We don’t have giant bees around here, so they could only be hummingbirds! This was a first for me, as I have never seen humming birds at rest before. Beside the far pond in the trees a couple of these little birds perched long enough for me to take a few photos.
Not the best shots, but I was thrilled seeing these hummers sitting still for a change.

A local dragonfly also sat long enough for a photograph too.
