» Alberta Birding Photography

Was out for about an hour tonight sneaking around the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. Since its light out until 10:00 pm here, there is lots of time for evening birding and tonight I found both male and female Great Horned Owls.

The Yellow-Headed Blackbirds are also back from there winter migration, and for me it was a first! You don’t see these guys in southern Ontario so I took full advantage!

Calgary seems to have Pheasant hiding around every corner, If you cant see them you certainly can hear there calls. Most of the time though they take off before you see them, I was lucky to get a few photos of this male before he headed out!

With large amazing parks only 20 min. in any direction getting out to good birding locations is easy and fast in Calgary.
